Installation

At the bottom of this page you find the main Silverlight application of this project. The Arduino Firmata Tester demonstrates the use of an elevated trust, out-of-browser Silverlight appplication that can, via a serial proxy , connect to and communicate with an Arduino board connected to the computer.

To use the Arduino Firmata Tester you first of all need to install it on your computer. Watch the Installing an Out of Browser Silverlight Application presentation below and follow the steps explained in it to download the Arduino Firmata Tester Out of Browser application from the bottom of this page.

Installing an Out of Browser Silverlight Application

Arduino Firmata Tester

To use the Arduino Firmata Tester application on your own computer you will need to also install the Serial Proxy application to allow it to communicate with your serial ports. This is explained in the Serial Proxy section of this web site (click the Next section link below).

To see it working fully you will also need to attach an Arduino board to your computer running the Firmata sketch and ideally have some switches, potentiometers and LEDs wired to the Arduino.
